Biography
Giacomo Ceruti is a self-taught documentary photographer with a background in Political Science and International Relations.
His journey with photography began at the age of 19, after spending several months living in South Africa. It was there that he first discovered the power of visual storytelling—the ability to capture emotions, document reality, and convey meaningful messages through images.
Driven by a deep interest in social and geopolitical issues, Ceruti developed a strong passion for documentary photography.
This passion led him to Ukraine during the conflict, where he documented the daily lives and struggles of the Ukrainian people.
His work then took him to northern Lebanon, where he lived in a Syrian refugee camp. What began as a reportage on the broader Syrian crisis quickly became a focused exploration of the harsh living conditions faced by refugees—especially the children growing up in the camps.
Ceruti’s work is rooted in a commitment to human dignity and truth. Through his lens, he seeks to bring visibility to underreported stories and to give a voice to communities often overlooked by mainstream narratives.
